概要

一部の、パーソナルコンピューター用BIOSに搭載されている機能で、ハードウェアに問題があった場合にはBEEP音などで異常を知らせたり画面上にメッセージを表示したりする。

POST機能はIBM、AMI、PhoenixなどのメーカーのBIOSに搭載されている。

特徴

音の鳴り方は、BIOSの設計など仕様に依存するため、メーカーごとに様々である。
